A New School for a New Era: Rose Salgado Elementary Opens with LG-Powered Interactive Learning Environments

Newly Opened K-5 Campus Deploys LG CreateBoards,
UltraWide Monitors and Gram 2-in-1 Laptops
to Support a Fully Reimagined, Mobile-first Approach to Teaching and Engagement

Rose Salgado Elementary School – the newest campus within San Jacinto Unified School District in Southern California – opened in August 2025 as a purpose-built K-5 environment honoring Soboba Tribal Member Rose Salgado’s lifelong commitment to education. Serving approximately 427 students across preschool through grade five, the 77,000-square-foot campus was designed from the outset as a modern, technology-forward learning environment. To realize that vision, the district selected LG Electronics USA as its core classroom technology partner during the buildout phase, enabling interactive learning tools to be integrated directly into the school’s architecture and pedagogy.

Because the school was constructed from the ground up, district leaders treated the project as a rare opportunity to rethink long-established classroom technology models rather than replicate legacy systems. With no outdated infrastructure to work around, the team reconsidered how teachers move around the classroom, how students engage and how technology could support – rather than constrain – daily teaching. This rethink ultimately led to an integrated ecosystem anchored by LG CreateBoards, LG Gram 2-in-1 laptops and LG UltraWide desktop monitors, enabling a more flexible, mobile, teacher-centered approach from the very first day of instruction.

“The first thing I asked myself was, ‘Do we need to do things the way we’ve always done them?’” remarked Robert Leonard, Director of Technology for the San Jacinto Unified School District (SJUSD). “In our older schools, teachers had a desktop, a laptop and an OPS-equipped interactive board – three different PCs in the same room. We wanted to avoid carrying forward inefficiencies that no one had ever stopped to question, and LG’s solutions provided just what we needed to realize our vision.”

Principal Amy Rose shared that vision, underscoring mobility, flexibility and instructional flow as core design principles for the new campus. “We wanted teachers to be able to move around the room, interact with students and transition fluidly between tools,” she said. “Technology should enable instruction, not anchor the teacher to one spot. LG’s approach aligned with that completely – their solutions felt designed to support how teachers actually teach, not force them into rigid patterns.”

As the district evaluated how to equip classrooms to support its instructional goals, integrator EHP Solutions arranged a series of demonstrations in early 2025 showcasing LG’s education portfolio. Led by EHP’s President, Tim Kim, these sessions proved decisive. Teachers and administrators responded immediately to the CreateBoard’s interactive capabilities, the seamless mobility of LG gram laptops, and the simplicity of casting and annotating across multiple sources.

“It was absolutely everything we were looking for,” said Rose. “Within minutes during the demos, our teachers could see how the LG tools would let them move, teach and interact more naturally. Even our more tech-savvy staff immediately recognized how the LG CreateBoard, the gram laptops and the casting features worked together to support the kind of interactive, multi-layered instruction we envisioned – without adding complexity.”

The resulting technology deployment brings that vision to life. Across the campus, 76 LG CreateBoard (model 75TR3DK) interactive displays provide both permanent, wall-mounted instructional touchpoints and mobile units that support small-group work across a range of instructional spaces. Two 98-inch LG displays (model 98UM5K) enhance shared spaces and meeting areas. In addition, 60 LG UltraWide curved desktop monitors streamline administrative tasks and instructional planning, while 46 LG gram 2-in-1 laptops give certificated and classified employees a consistent, mobile device they can use anywhere on campus.

Delivering that technology across the campus required an exceptionally fast and well-coordinated installation effort. Despite the narrow summer window between construction handover and the first day of school, the full rollout was completed in a matter of days, with teams working in parallel across multiple buildings and grade levels.

“We received building occupancy in May and opened in August,” Rose noted. “Ordinarily, that timeline would leave almost no room for technology integration, but Tim and his team were weeks ahead of schedule. They didn’t just install equipment – they set up functional classrooms. It was the most seamless, least disruptive technology rollout we’ve ever experienced, and it gave our teachers confidence walking into a brand-new campus.”

Leonard added, “Some of the setup was happening while walls were still going up, but the coordination between LG, EHP and our IT team made it possible. Everyone understood how critical the timeline was. Devices were imaged, LG CreateBoards were configured, and network checks were happening in lockstep. For an installation of this size, hitting those deadlines without compromising quality was extraordinary.”

Just months into the school year, the impact is evident. Classroom practice is taking shape quickly as teachers grow comfortable with the new tools. Lessons flow naturally across different modes of instruction, students engage with content from multiple sources, and collaborative problem-solving is already a visible part of daily learning.

“Students see each other’s work in real time, and teachers are becoming increasingly comfortable shifting between activities without breaking the flow of the lesson,” Rose said. “That openness is changing the dynamic in the classrooms. Students are contributing more, building on one another’s ideas, and treating the LG CreateBoards as shared workspaces rather than teacher-only tools.”

Behind the scenes, the school is also refining its network architecture, wireless capacity and device configurations to support the high density of interactive displays and mobile endpoints across the campus. The district is working closely with LG and EHP to adjust settings, test new workflows and ensure long-term stability as usage scales.

“When you have one interactive display every 35 feet, you start to encounter real-world scenarios that go beyond what most manufacturers typically design for,” Leonard said. “LG has been responsive whenever we’ve raised questions, and that gives us confidence as we continue to optimize the environment.”

Overall, the new campus illustrates what’s possible when facilities, pedagogy and technology are planned as a unified ecosystem rather than layered sequentially. The build demonstrates how intentional design decisions – made early and carried through construction, installation and classroom practice – can shape daily learning in ways that feel natural to both teachers and students.
